Start your tour by meeting your tour guide at the Cartagena cruise dock. From here, you will head out on a picturesque stroll along the water and the 18th century town walls, originally erected to prevent attacks coming from the sea into the city. Your tour guide will explain the significance and history of the city with you, as you make your way to your first stop of the day, the fascinating Roman Theatre Museum. Upon arrival here, you will enjoy an interior visit through the hallways located underground, incredible collections of emblematic pieces found in the excavations as well as the impressive Roman Theatre, one of the largest in Roman Hispania with a capacity of 7,000 people!

Next, your tour continues with a leisurely stroll along the main shopping street, Calle Mayor, peppered with restaurants, cafes, shops and historic buildings. There will be time to grab a snack or buy a few souvenirs before ending up at the beautiful Plaza del Ayuntamiento. Here, you will see the glorious, eclectic Town Hall building. You will have time to capture some wonderful photos here as your tour guide narrates you through the significance of the Plaza, the Town Hall building as well as the beautiful architecture along the square.

On your way back to the port, you will make a short stop by the famous Naval Museum to see the historic Peral’s Submarine, assembled in 1885! The Museum building is a former prison but now stands as a testimony to the Naval history of the Cartagena. It houses interesting exhibitions related to naval construction.
