You’ll walk/stroll through one of the longest pedestrian shopping streets in Europe, Stroeget. You’ll make your way to the oldest square in Denmark, Nytorv and Gammeltorv, and visit VorFrue Kirke, the beautiful National Cathedral of Denmark. At the end of the pedestrianized area you’ll arrive at Kongen’sNytorv, a beautiful old traditional plaza that houses an old traditional opera, the Courthouse and the famous Nyhavn, a 17th century waterfront, canal and entertainment district. Here you will get to experience and capture the beautiful, colorful, historical canal houses and old sailboats.

Depending on the time, you might get to see the Changing of the Guards and maybe even see the Queen sneak peek through the windows! Behind the castle you’ll get a glimpse of characteristic National Opera, resting on the water canal.

Further up the canal, along the beautiful Langelinje promenade, you’ll experience one of the most visited attractions in Denmark, the Little Mermaid Statue. The more than 100 year old sculpture displayed on a rock, has a fascinating history that your private Copenhagen guide will share with you.The sculpture was inspired by the famous Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale about a mermaid who gives up everything to be united with a young handsome prince on land.
