Tour Description

The Private Accessible 4 hour Copenhagen Cruise Excursion combines convenient accessible transfers between the many highlights of the city, but also lets you get out of the vehicle to stroll around and experience the historic Danish capital firsthand. You’ll also get an opportunity to see the original Little Mermaid!

This accessible Copenhagen Shore Excursion begins as your local professional guide and accessible van meets you at the cruise dock. From here you’ll set out on a half day adventure, tailored to your preferred pace and accessibility needs.

Copenhagen is a fascinating historic city peppered with highlights and picturesque views right in the center of the city. Escorted by your private English speaking guide, you’ll walk/stroll through one of the longest pedestrian shopping streets in Europe, Stroeget. You’ll make your way to the oldest square in Denmark, Nytorv and Gammeltorv, and visit VorFrue Kirke, the beautiful National Cathedral of Denmark. At the end of the pedestrianized area you’ll arrive at Kongen’sNytorv, a beautiful old traditional plaza that houses an old traditional opera, the Courthouse and the famous Nyhavn, a 17th century waterfront, canal and entertainment district. Here you will get to experience and capture the beautiful, colorful, historical canal houses and old sailboats.

Right down the street from Nyhavn, you’ll find Amalienborg Castle, the home to the reigning Queen Margrethe the II. Depending on the time, you might get to see the Changing of the Guards and maybe even see the Queen sneak peek through the windows! Behind the castle you’ll get a glimpse of characteristic National Opera, resting on the water canal.

Further up the canal, along the beautiful Langelinje promenade, you’ll experience one of the most visited attractions in Denmark, the Little Mermaid Statue. The more than 100 year old sculpture displayed on a rock, has a fascinating history that your private Copenhagen guide will share with you.The sculpture was inspired by the famous Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale about a mermaid who gives up everything to be united with a young handsome prince on land.

After your day of adventure visiting memorable Copenhagen sites, your private driver will escort you back to your cruise ship.
