Tour Description

This accessible Munich walking/rolling tour gives you a wonderful opportunity to experience the Bavarian Capital city firsthand. On this tour, you'll explore the very heart of Munich, including the beautiful Marienplatz Square, the Town Hall building, the Opera Building, the Hofbrauhaus Beer Hall and the open air market. While this is a walking tour, it is specially designed to accommodate disabled visitors and their families. 

Start your tour by meeting your private tour guide at at the popular Marienplatz, a former market square located right in the very heart of the city. This incredible public square is peppered with beautiful architecture, including the fascinating Neo-Gothic NeuesRathaus (New Townhall) with its famous Glockenspiel that chimes and reenacts stories from the 16th century.  Escorted by your tour guide, you will explore the square and learn about the history that belongs here.

Next, using accessible step-free routes, your tour continues with a visit to the Frauenkirche, Munich’s second oldest church of the late Gothic period.Learn about the legend of the devil’s footprint, and admire beautiful original stained-glass windows and ancient art and sculptures. Following your visit to the church, you will continue your tour with a leisurely stroll to Odeonsplatz where you will see the Feldherrnhalle, a monumental loggia modelled after the Loggia deiLanzi in Florence.Itwas commissioned in 1840 by King Ludwig I of Bavaria to honor the tradition of his army. You’ll also experience The Residenz, (the former royal palace of the Wittelsbach monarchs of Bavaria) – make sure to rub your hands on the Guardian Lion’s nose for good luck!

The last part of your tour will be spent admiring the glorious Opera on Max-Josef Square, a renowned opera company dating back to the 1650s. You’ll then make your way to Alter-Hof (Old Court) which is the former imperial residence of Louis IV, the Holy Roman Emperor.

Last but not least, you'll have a chance to visit the Hofbrauhaus, a beerhall dating back to the 16th century, and end at colorful food market, Viktualienmarkt. This vibrant market has lots of opportunities to grab a snacks or enjoy a beer in the scenic Biergarten.
