Start your tour by meeting your private tour guide at at the popular Marienplatz, a former market square located right in the very heart of the city. This incredible public square is peppered with beautiful architecture, including the fascinating Neo-Gothic NeuesRathaus (New Townhall) with its famous Glockenspiel that chimes and reenacts stories from the 16th century. Escorted by your tour guide, you will explore the square and learn about the history that belongs here.
Next, using accessible step-free routes, your tour continues with a visit to the Frauenkirche, Munich’s second oldest church of the late Gothic period.Learn about the legend of the devil’s footprint, and admire beautiful original stained-glass windows and ancient art and sculptures. Following your visit to the church, you will continue your tour with a leisurely stroll to Odeonsplatz where you will see the Feldherrnhalle, a monumental loggia modelled after the Loggia deiLanzi in Florence.Itwas commissioned in 1840 by King Ludwig I of Bavaria to honor the tradition of his army.
