Tour Description

This 4 hour accessible Hamburg excursion provides a memorable visit to the interesting German riverside metropole. This tour combines a relaxing panoramic drive through the heart of the city with an interior visit to the glorious St. Michael’s church.

Start your tour by meeting your tour guide and accessible van at the Hamburg cruise dock. From here, you will head out on a panoramic drive narrated by your tour guide. Sit back and relax as you gain an overview of this beautiful German city. Among other things, you drive along the picturesque Alster Park recreation area and the famous Jungfernstieg, an urban promenade along one of the city’s many canals. You will also see the Hamburg Town Hall, the Stock Exchange, the Telegraph Tower and the famed Planten and Bloomen Park.

Next, your tour continues with a leisurely stroll in the Hafencity district. Escorted by your tour guide, you will admire the beautiful canacls, old spice and carpet warehouses and renovated historic buildings. While here, you will also see the main landmark, the Elbphilharmonie concert hall and the Speicherstadt, which since 2015 has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the world’s largest warehouse district where the buildings stand on timber-pile foundations and oak logs. This incredible area was built from 1883 to 1927 and boasts of fascinating history!

The final part of your tour will be spent enjoying an interior visit to the glorious St. Michael’s church, one of the finest Hansseatic Protestant baroqu churches ever made. Admire the spectacular interior firsthand, including the incredible organs, as well as the the beautiful alter and pulprit. The church has a very distinctive copper roof and its 132-metre-tall tower supports Germany’s largest clock bell. Although heavily damaged during WWII, the church which was constructed in 1912, has been fully repaired.
