Tour Description

This 7 hour private accessible Cork shore excursion is a wonderful way to explore the beautiful surroundings of Cork. Explore the glorious Barney Castle and Gardens, enjoy some leisurely shopping and lunch break at Blarney Woollen Mills and experience the charming, historic town of Kinsale.

Start your day by meeting your guide and accessible van at the Cork cruise dock. From here, you will head on a panoramic drive to the first stop of the day, the incredible Blarney Castle and Gardens. Escorted by your guide, you will enter the beautiful Castle to admire the ornate interior of one of Cork’s greatest treasures. Built nearly 600 years ago, the Castle is commonly known for the famous Blarney Stone which is believed to be one half of  the stone of Scone, which was given by Robert the Bruce to Cormac McCarthy in 1314 for his support in the Battle of Bannockburn. The Blarney Castle estate also offers a chance to admire the beautiful Blarney Castle Gardens which include extensive gardens and an Arboretum surrounding the Castle and House.

Next, your tour continues to the nearby Blarney Woollen Mills, built in 1823! Originally used mainly for spinning and weaving wool, the mill now serves as an Irish heritage shop. While here, you’ll enjoy a leisurely stroll around with opportunities for some shopping and free time to sit down and enjoy lunch on your own. The last part of your day will be spent enjoying the wonderful Cork countryside and the charming town of Kinsale, famous as Ireland’s gourmet capital. Escorted by your tour guide, you will explore this chanting harbor town with its beautiful streets, fascinating history and impressive medieval structures.

Enjoy the drive back to the cruise port in your private wheelchair accessible van.

*Please note the Blarney Castle is wheelchair accessible. However the Blarney Stone area is not.
