Tour Description

This Cadiz shore excursion gives you a wonderful overview of the Old Town of Cadiz. On this accessible walking/rolling tour, you will explore the heart of the town, including the beautiful San Juan de Dios Plaza, the spectacular Cadiz Cathedral and the colorful Plaza de las Flores.

Start your tour by meeting your tour guide at the Cadiz cruise dock. From here, you will head out on a picturesque stroll along the water to the heart of Old Town Cadiz. Your first stop of the day will be Plaza de San Juan de Dios. This beautiful square with medieval origin has been the administrative and commercial center of Cadiz since the 16th century. It is the home to several breathtaking buildings including the City Hall and the Church of San Juan de Dios. Nearby, several small vendor stands are selling local artisan crafts and souvenirs.

Next, your tour continues to the popular Plaza de la Cathedral, where you will see the breathtaking Cadiz Cathedral. This spectacular yellow-domed cathedral is an impressively proportioned Baroque-Neoclassical construction was built between 1722 and 1838. Admire the beautiful clock tower and the fascinating crypt inside. Following your visit here, your stroll continues to the colorful Plaza de Las Flores.  This open-air flower market is peppered with open stalls selling beautiful flowers and plants. There are also several small vendors selling traditional foods and drinks.

As you start making your way back to the cruise dock, you will make a stop at the charming Plaza de la Candelaria off the beaten track. Lined with orange trees, ironwork lamps and park benches and an ice cream parlor, this is a wonderful little hidden gem.

Your last stop of the day will be Plaza de España, a large square close to the port of Cadiz. This impressive square is dominated by the magnificent Monument to the Constitution of 1812. Surrounding the Monument, you will enjoy beautiful gardens with interesting trees and smaller statues.
